Reward Points Collection

  • 1 reward point for every Rs.150 spends (Upto maximum reward points of 1,500 per statement cycle )
  • Earn 5X reward points on Movies/Dining/Groceries/Railways & Taxis spends  (Upto maximum reward points of 1,500 per statement cycle)
  • Earn 10X reward points on PayZapp & SmartBUY spends (Upto maximum reward points of 1,500 per statement cycle)
  • Earn 25X reward points on your Birthday spends (( Upto maximum reward points of 3000)

Exceptions:  EasyEMI and e-wallet loading transactions will not accrue Reward points.Reward points accrued will be reversed if a retail transaction is converted into SmartEMI.  Reward points accrued for Insurance transactions will have a maximum cap of 2,000 per transaction.

Reward Points Redemption

  • Redeem Reward Points as CashBack against outstanding amount on your Credit Card (100 Reward Points = Rs. 10)
  • Reward Points against air miles of Jet Airways (Jet Privilege Miles) and Singapore Airlines (KrisFlyer Miles).
  • Redeem points against the rewards catalogue  (approx 100 points =  Rs 15 )

Points Value / Cashback equivalent based on redemption

1 point = Rs 0.10

  • Approx. cashback of 0.07% on normal spending and  
  • Approx. cashback of 0.70% on specialised spending,
  • Approx. cashback of of 1.70% on B’day spending

Additional 1.11% in form of gift voucher if you hit the annual spending

Fees:   First year fee and Annual Fees – Rs 500

  • Welcome Benefit of 500 reward points on fee realization only
  • First year fee waived off if you spend Rs 10000 in first 90 days
  • Spend Rs 60,000 in a year and get a waiver of next year’s annual membership fee


  • Salaried:  Rs 12000 per month salary

This card offers extra points for entertainment expenses and Rs 1000 gift voucher when spending hits Rs 90K in a year. 

In fact, I would rather go for HDFC Bank Regalia First Credit Card or HDFC Bank Diners Club Miles Credit Card.

  1. I had money back credit card, I received a call from costomer care that your card is converted to freedom card which will be delivered shortly.I could not understand why they do so.It is difficult to contact customer care.They should generet easy to contact them.

  2. Got a hdfc freedom credit card in July 2018. In feb, got a payment reminder like this
    Credit Limit Rs.25000
    Current Balance Rs.2637.51

    We write to you in reference to your Credit Card account detailed hereinabove.

    Despite repeated reminders, payments on your HDFC Bank Credit Card continue to remain unpaid. Please remit an amount of Rs .2637.51 immediately.

    In march, got another payment reminder –

    Credit Limit Rs.25000
    Current Balance Rs.3037.51

    We write to you in reference to your Credit Card account detailed hereinabove.

    Despite repeated reminders, payments on your HDFC Bank Credit Card continue to remain unpaid. Please remit an amount of Rs .3037.51 immediately.

    I am really annoyed as I have never made any transaction using my credit card. Tried a lot but failed to connect with their representatives.

    Need your help as I am totally new to this world of credit card.

  3. today i get a call from this number “9811916137” saying u get benefits and something like that .. i said ” i don’t want any benefits thank you”. she was like ok pay 8,600 rs when u get the courier and cuts the call.. i called again and asked how can you force me to take those benefits if i dont want. she tells me “then call the hdfc bank” and cuts the call.. i call that number and she picks up .. i asked her to tell me in detail… she tells me sorry i already updated ur feed back.. ( so careless and mean.. rude behaviour) y should i pay 8,600 rs for those benefits i didn’t choose and making me forcibly pay it .. is hdfc hirng such irresponsible persons..? hdfc customer care doesn’t connect me to any person in customer care if i call what should i do help me .. i am using freedom credit card

    • Hi Naveen. Please explain your query. Looks like you have been a victim of postal fraud. Have they charges Rs 8600 to your card?

  4. Worrest card & worrest services.. customer care services are too bad they don’t know how to customer’s. Always remember one thing bcz of customers you only you people are still live.. im holding one card with SBI where am getting alot of offers and benifts.. and charges also very less.. improve ur services Nd train your employees they don’t know how to treat customers.. without informing they will keep in mute & no response.. they will long time small quaries also..

  5. Very poor and bad service.
    Bank told me get life time free card and given card on annual amount pay basis. topic is not stop here, after i was call to bank and customer care both are told across to contact them. very frustrated situation. long time cant call connect to customer care. time loss. not get satisfied answer. say like use our apps, smart pay..out of subject convience. dont gives any confirmation by mail or msg by both of them.
    so friends from onwards get service from HDFC think a once or take confirma
